- heavy reliance on 12-step programs – AA in most regional centres, many different fellowship groups
- underlying compulsion to drink/use leads to depression and anxiety, so anti-depressants drugs should be considered rarely in first instance
Amelia Callaghan, Odyssey House
- therapeutic community at Lower Plenty (Sydney, NZ, USA)
- 40 supported accom houses across Vic
- residential 12-18m
- Info sessions Wed 1pm at Richmond office, followed by Assessment and weekly support programs till intake (currently 6w, has been up to 4m)
