It’s all very well to berate busy doctors for their poor hand hygiene, but there is a very high-profile nurse who is in flagrant breach of basic standards. She has been seen at work numerous times on national broadcasts, in the company of no less than the chief medical officer and the Minister for Health.
She is the woman with extraordinarily long artificial fingernails who is injecting a vaccine in the campaigns promoting the influenza H1N1 vaccine.
