Confidentiality in Government Contracts at ANAO 28Sep0911. The ANAO reviewed a sample of 115 of the contracts reported as containing confidentiality provisions. Of these, 59 contracts did not contain confidentiality provisions and 33 contracts were assessed as including confidentiality provisions that were not justified, having regard to the Finance Guidance. This meant that only 23 (20 per cent) of the contracts were correctly listed. Incorrectly including confidentiality provisions, or incorrectly listing contracts as containing confidentiality provisions, potentially precludes or restricts the Parliament and the public from accessing information about these contracts.
