… Anatomy of a Pogrom (Edward H. Judge, NYUP 1992, 0-18147-4193-2)
This is the second, as-new, copy bought through Abebooks. This one for $20 + 22. Another copy (same price, shipping $17) was given to AZ.
Nathaniel Kleitman was born in Kishinev.
Clara Lemlich, born in Ukrainian Gorodok, emigrated in 1903 after the pogrom.
Lazarus Averbuch left Kishinev with his sister, settled in Chicago.
Aleksandar Hemon wrote The Lazarus Project around the death of Averbuch and a semi-fictious journey back to Moldavia. Dawn and The Drawer is a pdf pamphlet of two short stories that print & fold into a small booklet. Dawn is a gem.
Waiting for An Accidental Anarchist, the book that inspired Hemon, and shocked him with the photos displaying the dead Lazarus.
